7.2 CESA Committee Update – Marv Fried Chair

Ø Last meeting was held October 28, 2009

Ø CESA monitoring committee gave report on Sexual Abuse Councilor.

Ø Debbie Schultz update – still seeing 8 clients through 1 on 1 support work. She is also offering presentations and promotion to referral agencies.

Ø Funding from Victim Services will continue for our Sexual Abuse councilor for the rest of this fiscal year, end of March/2010 and may be extended for another year.

7.5 Homelessness Initiative Project

Ø CMHA ECHO II housing project is now completed and is open for occupancy. There are 20 apartments available and 2 emergency units.

Ø Phase I plan is to have up to half occupancy by November 2009 and we currently have 8 units occupied.

Ø Phase II plan is to fill second half of building by the end of December 2009.

Ø Phase III transition into use of emergency suites by mid December 2009 – January 2010.

Ø Applications for apartment rental are available at our downtown CMHA office or at the ECHO apartment office

Ø Plans for a Grand Opening are in the works.
