1. Call Meeting to Order
1.1 The meeting
was called to order by Co-Chair Nick Dutchyshen who welcomed the committee
members and circulated the attendance sheet.
2. Adoption of Agenda
2.1
Slight change to agenda format, Show Case presentations will be given at the
beginning of the meeting and sub-committee reports will be submitted at the
end.
2.2
MOTION by Jack Dyck, seconded by Deborah Burnside that we adopt the
agenda as presented. CARRIED.
3. Adoption of Minutes
3.1
MOTION by Sharon Glasscock, seconded by Jennifer Bulhumeur to adopt Minutes of
the September 15, 2009 meeting with the following changes:

4. Treasurer’s Report, a typo error of current bank balance read $1430.33 and
should read a current bank balance of $1,043.33

4. Business Arising from the Minutes
4.1
Nick Dutchyshen suggests the committee agree on a day and time for a
brainstorming session

5. New Business
5.1 Showcase – High Risk Youth Committee – New
Initiative, presented by Tammy Connolly and Deborah Burnside. Handouts were presented to all committee
members. New initiative presented – Swan
Valley Multi-Case Management Team, for families who are struggling or working
with different agencies, similar models in Dauphin (DART) and Selkirk
(START). The High Youth Risk Committee
will now be named “HOPE” (Helping,
5.2. Showcase – Service Canada – Lynn Bobick
presented handouts and gave presentation on services provided by Service
Canada. In regards to Mobile Outreach
Program, Service Canada still is waiting on equipment. Due to staff shortage, the

6.1
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Marv Copeland. Current bank balance is
$999.38. $100.00 of that balance belongs
to Addictions Awareness Committee.
Inter-Agency actual cash assets: $899.38. Expense transactions since our last meeting
were $20.95 for web hosting fee and $20.00 for the Annual Return Fee.

Marv Copeland received an email from Manitoba Community Services Council
advising their board had approved a grant to

Thank you to those members who have submitted their voluntary membership fees
to date. If anyone else wishes to pay
membership fees and needs a copy of the form, they are available through Marv.
6.4
Marv discussed the possibility of collaboration with Vision Casting Committee
and the use of the grant to fill a position of Inter-Agency Coordinator/Family
Resource Centre Manager in the future. A focus on more needed tasks for the
next candidate. Marv also noted that
there are more places to apply for funding for “project based programs.”

7. Sub-Committee
Reports
7.1
SUCCEED – Lorri-Ann Munro
Lorri-Ann
gave a verbal report of the program. Attendance is currently at 15 students.
Driver’s Ed program is currently running.
7.2 CESA
– Marv Fried (absent)
Jennifer Belhumeur gave a verbal report. Last meeting, Oct 28, 2009. Debbie Schultz working one-on-one with eight
clients, funding to staff Counsellor Position will continue to March 2010.
5.3 FASD
– Donna-Jean Slack
Nothing new to report, next meeting
scheduled Dec 14, 2009 at 3:30.

Better Beginnings – Sharon Glasscock
Beginning
programs which have started in the various communities. 91 families have
attended with a total of 121 children.
5.5
Homelessness Initiative Project – Marv Fried (absent)
Jennifer
Belhumeur gave a verbal report. Echo 2
is open to occupancy, 20 apartments with 2 emergency. 8 suites occupied. Leona Rausch, Manager and Grand Opening in
planning stage. Phase 2 to fill 2nd
half by of December 2009.
5.6 Triple
“P” Parenting – Deborah Burnside

interest from the public, Triple “P
Programs were available on Wednesdays
in October at the John
Many resources (eg Tip sheets) are
available at the Division Office.
5.7 HOPE

gave a verbal report on Multi-System Case Management, Parenting Options,
Alternative Youth Program, “My Pathway” Program, and SPICE Chart for K-6.

Addictions Awareness Committee – Tammy Zaretsky-Denischuk

reported Addiction Awareness Week Theme is “Healthy Choices/Healthy
Future. There will be a Healthy Choices
Poster Contest. Adult Ed to promote
Literacy on Posters. Looking for Guest
Speakers for Community Nights.
